However, the district is especially known for the Turabul Haq Dargah Urs, a spiritual fair honouring Sufi sant, which highlights its local traditions and historical connections. Together, these celebrations offer insight into the district’s social fabric and collective rhythms of life.
Turabul Haq Dargah Urs
The Urs at Hazrat Sayyid Turabul Haq Dargah, is a major annual fair held in Parbhani. Celebrated for over 108 years, the festival honours the life and teachings of the revered Sufi sant, who is remembered for spreading messages of peace, unity, and healing. The dargah, located along Jaam-Parwa Road, is a key spiritual site in the region and is sometimes called the “Ajmer Sharif of Maharashtra” due to its significance across religious communities.
Hazrat Turabul Haq, also known as Turatpir Baba, spent his final years in Parbhani, where he became known as a spiritual guide and healer. His teachings emphasized compassion and bringing people together, and the dargah today remains a space where people from different backgrounds come to offer prayers and receive blessings. This festival celebrates the sant's life and teachings and usually takes place from February 2 to February 15, drawing people from all over India who seek help and healing. Many visitors share stories of positive experiences after visiting the dargah.
